Lucky’s Place is a true, no-kill, donation based,
volunteer driven, animal shelter.

About Us

Lucky’s Place is a true no-kill, animal shelter that is donation-based and volunteer driven by a group of dedicated, hard working, and passionate individuals. We work hard to ready our ‘guests’ for loving homes, by giving them top quality care, attention, and whatever else they may need to be happy and healthy. We take pride in knowing each ‘guest’ has been examined, vaccinated, and spayed or neutered by one of our local high quality veterinary service providers, as well as going above and beyond to ensure each guest is given every opportunity they need to thrive.

At Lucky’s Place, each guest is treated as family. We find beauty in the most incomprehensible places and the otherwise homely faces. It is our gift to see beyond the dirt, terror, sadness, and defeat to find the true soul that lies within. We are rescue.

a note from Moonlight in her new home: The purrfect spot to take a sunbath and do a little grooming. And watch the birds and the leaves blow around. Life is good! (I'm also smarter and more capable than anyone probably thought!). Thanks for taking care of me Jan, and finding me a happy and another lucky place. I'm so glad you are getting better. Love, Moonshine (so when mommy sings that song, it becomes me!)😸😽😻 ... See MoreSee Less

I also want to introduce you to Cilla and her babies: Robert, Ben and Jack. Jack is the Siamese. Robert and Ben look black but they have really dark tabby stripes - black tabbies - I can't wait to see what they look like when they grow! They are all in foster care for the time being ... I'm very happy to introduce you to our two 'mewest' guests: Nugget and Ohno Roady. Both were found by the side of a road. Both had degloving injuries to their tails and both had to have their tails amputated. Nugget also had a hip fracture thru the femoral head with necessitated the amputation of a hind leg. Ohno Roady had a tibial fracture and has another 2 weeks in a cast. They are both very sweet and their injuries are not slowing them down, ... See MoreSee Less

Adoption Information

Thank you for your interest in adding one of our ‘guests’ to your family! We know how exciting it is to add a family member and we want to help in any way we can! At Lucky’s Place, we believe there is a unique connection between animals and humans and we want to be sure the connection is mutual!

The first step in adopting is to give us a call to set a time to do a meet and greet with our ‘guest.’ When you come, be sure to bring everyone who will be interacting with the new family member. If you are undecided, let us know what characteristics you’re looking for and we can help identify the critters with the qualities you seek. We want you to relax and spend some time together to ensure this is a “match made in heaven.”

Once a match has been made, we will walk you through the adoption process. Each one of our ‘guests’ has been given initial vaccinations and has been spayed or neutered. We make every effort to determine whether animals placed for adoption are of sound disposition, however good disposition cannot be guaranteed. We also make no representation or guarantee that they are housebroken, have no bad habits, health problems, or are purebred. Our animals come to us as strays, from veterinary clinics, and from individuals who can no longer care for them. Many of these animals have been abandoned once, and we try to prevent it from happening again.

In signing the adoption contract you are agreeing that:

1. You are required to keep current on all vaccinations, and licensing if required

2. The animal will not be allowed to run at large and must be provided with suitable shelter, food, and water at all times (MN statute 346.20).

3. You will retain possession and care for the animal on your premises. The animal cannot be transferred to any other party without notification and approval by Lucky’s Place.

4. You understand that adoption donations are non-refundable, and any animal adopted from Lucky’s Place may be returned to the shelter at any time for any reason.
